What is Moringa?
Moringa is a herb which is being used for centuries for its amazing health benefits. It is obtained from the trees of Moringa Oleifera, native to Africa and Asia. Moringa is commonly used as an oil and is found in many skincare products such as skin creams, perfumes, conditioners and shampoos.
Moringa is also included in massage oils as it is absorbed easily. This makes your skin soft and smooth.
Experts call it a jack of all trades plant as it is packed with the goodness of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and moisturizing fatty acids. All this makes moringa very effective when it comes to health and skincare.
To consume moringa seeds, they can be eaten raw or roasted as a nutritious snack, added to smoothies or salads for an extra nutritional boost, or ground into a powder and incorporated into recipes such as energy balls or homemade granola bars.
Moringa seeds are also rich in vitamins and minerals. Seed extracts show antibacterial activity and are also used as a water purifying agent. Various studies found Moringa seeds as oxidative stress-, inflammation-, blood sugar-, and blood pressure-reducing agents.
It is recommended not to exceed 3 or 4 seeds per day.
